As the Founder and CEO of NorTech Innovations & Solutions, Austin Zhao has one core mission: to make technology approachable, reliable, and a source of empowerment for individuals and businesses right here in Toronto and beyond. His journey in IT took off in 2019, growing from a keen interest into a full-blown passion for simplifying tech’s trickiest challenges and using innovation to drive success. Fast forward to 2025, and he officially launched NorTech Innovations & Solutions with a clear vision to offer affordable, custom-fit, dependable IT solutions that truly make a difference.
Austin’s expertise covers a wide spectrum of technology. Whether you’re dealing with a frustrating home tech glitch or a business needing robust enterprise-level IT services, he’s got it covered. He’s got a proven knack for designing solid network infrastructures, boosting cybersecurity, and implementing software that genuinely makes things run smoother. Plus, his passion extends to the visual world, where he excels in high-quality media production and helps businesses craft compelling online presences through smart web design and optimization.

Austin graduated with Dean’s Honour Roll distinction from York University in 2024, holding a Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) in Communication & Media Studies. His academic pursuits weren’t just about grades; they were a deep dive into how media and technology intersect with our lives, exploring critical areas like artificial intelligence, surveillance, privacy, and policy-making. His outstanding academic achievements were further recognized with the York University Continuing Student Scholarship.
Outside of NorTech, Austin is a dedicated photographer, a testament to his creative spirit. This isn’t just a pastime; it’s another avenue where he applies the same strategic thinking and innovative eye he uses in the tech world. In 2025, he was honoured with a prestigious Fellowship of the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA) for his notable contributions to the visual arts, beautifully linking his creative passion with his professional drive.
